4,000 households can apply for funding to EBRD Energy Efficiency programme


The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) continues its credit line for energy efficiency in the residential sector in Bulgaria by providing 20 mln. euros. As part of the programme, 4.4 mln. euros grant are provided by the International Fund "Kozloduy".

The residential energy efficiency credit line (REECL) provides grants to households for energy efficiency investments of 10% to 20% of the principal amount of the credit granted and depends on the complexity of the projects. According to Deputy Minister of Energy Jecho Stankov 4,000 households will apply during the next three years.

This is the first program that includes single family houses, houses in repairs, and new buildings.
The continuation of REECL, active in Bulgaria since 2005, is realized after the successful completion of the first two periods of the program and in response to active user interest.
