Accelerating the activities for the construction of the gas interconnection between Bulgaria and Greece
Bulgaria and Greece will work to speed up the completion of the project to build the natural gas interconnector between the two countries. This was confirmed during a meeting of the Bulgarian Minister of Energy, Mrs. Temenuzhka Petkova, and the Greek Minister of Environment, Energy and Climate Change, Mr. Yorgos Stathakis.
The main topic of the discussions was the development of the project for the construction of the gas connection Greece – Bulgaria. Ministers Petkova and Stathakis were determined to focus their efforts on the procedures for selecting a contractor and issuing of building permits and all necessary relevant documents. Regarding the project financing, Minister Petkova explained that, in addition to the funding received from the EC amounting to Euro 45 million, the Bulgarian Government will provide a state guarantee of Euro 110 million in several consecutive budget years.
