Bulgaria signed the International Energy Charter

Achieving a favorable and sustainable in the long term investment climate in the energy sector is one of the main goals of the new version of the International Energy Charter.

The new document builds on the Charter of 1991. It was signed by 70 countries. Representatives of international delgations consider that the document signed today will contribute to strengthening of the international cooperation so as to find the best solutions to the current energy problems.

On behalf of the Bulgarian government, the new International Energy Charter, which is a political declaration and long-term cooperation in the energy sector without creating a legally binding obligation on the parties, was signed by Minister of Energy, Ms. Temenuzhka Petkova.
