Decrease in electricity production and consumption

Electricity generation from wind, solar and biomass plants in Bulgaria dropped by 7,6% since the beginning of the year. For the period, they produced a total of 1 524 207 MWh compared to the 1 649 212 MWh for the same period last year. The production of the RES installations connected to the distribution grids decreased by 10,86%, and only that of the biomass plants increased by 5%. In the case of the plants connected to the transmission network, the decrease compared to the same period last year was 2,76%.

The production of hydro power plants increased by 51,77% (3 003 782 MWh).

The total power generation in the country decreased by 2,44% (23 019 634 MWh), and of the base load plants - by 7,39% (18 491 646 MWh). 

Consumption also decreased by 5,47% (20 086 897 MWh), while export increased by 25,04% (2 932 737 MWh).
