EC approved an Ordinance to reduce RES cost burden on businesses

The European Commission has approved without objection measures to alleviate the costs of large industrial consumers for green energy. The final public posting of the Ordinance to reduce the burden on Bulgarian business related to the cost of renewable energy, will come after its publication in the Official Journal of the EC. The Ordinance will enter into force retroactively as of August 1, 2015 and will be valid until December 31, 2020. In order to use the rebate (the component in the price of electricity associated with the cost of renewable energy), industrial consumers should meet criteria defined in Regulation criteria.

The EC has approved and officially supports the scheme for renewable energy feed-in tariffs, stipulated in the Energy from Renewable Sources Act of 2011.
