Natural gas price for the first quarter of 2019

With its decision of December 28, 2018, the Bulgarian Energy and Water Regulatory Commission approved the price of natural gas for the first quarter of 2019 at the amount of BGN 44,80 per MWh (excluding excise duty and VAT). It is 3,51% higher than the price for the 4th quarter of 2018. This price includes the component "natural gas price at the entrance of the gas transmission grids" amounting to 44,08 BGN / MWh, the component "public supply" amounting to BGN 0,59 / MWh and the compensation, resulting from imposed obligations to the public of BGN 0,13 / MWh, covering the costs of Bulgargaz EAD for storage in the Chiren gas storage facility. It does not include the price for access to and transmission through the gas transmission network, which are paid by customers to end-suppliers.

Regardless of the increase, the real increase for households and business customers using natural gas will be below 2%, as access, transmission, distribution and supply prices are not changing.

The change of the price of natural gas will not affect the price of heat.

Electricity prices for residential and non-residential users on the regulated market remain unchanged.
