The U.S. to provide assistance to Bulgaria in forging its energy future


Energy diversification and the preparation of a plan for the development of Bulgaria’s energy future, along with security and legislation, were among the main topics discussed by U.S. Secretary of State and Bulgarian PM Boyko Borisov, during Kerry’s visit to Sofia on 15.01.

The U.S. will send an energy expert to work with Bulgaria’s Ministry of Energy for developing a development plan for the energy sector. Other discussed topics include the gas interconnector with Greece, the gas hub at Turkish border, the shale gas, and new nuclear capacities.
